Session Duration:
The session duration is the amount of time that the user spends on your website when they visit your site by clicking the link on the SERP. If your site has more session duration, that is when the user spends more time on your site then the Google thinks that there is some potential content on your site and hence boost your site to the top on the SERP. Google’s RankBrain, an Artificial Intelligence system tracks the user’s behavior on SERP to modify the ranks of the webpages on SERP.
Bounce Rate:
Bounce rate is the percentage of the users who leave your site in the minimum time when the visit from SERP. That is when the user visits your site from SERP and of identifies that the information he/she is looking for is not found on your site, then they may leave the site immediately. This will make the bounce rate to increase. This will certainly make the website rank to drop, as Google will think that there is no useful content on your site which the user is looking for.
Click Through Rate (CTR):
Click Through Rate is the percentage of the number of time that the user clicks on the link to your website on SERP to the number of times that the webpage appears on SERP. The higher click-through rate indicates that the more number of times that the user clicks on your website when they appear on SERP. Though your website has a higher click-through rate, increase in bounce rate will make the website ranks to drop.
Keep The Users Engaged:
Thus according to the Google’s RankBrain update, the user’s behavior on SERP plays the main role in rankings of your webpage. It is found that the site with more session duration of around 3 minutes and 10 seconds tend to rank on the first page of Google.
