Why Facebook is a platform every business should build a brand on and capture awareness
By Fernando BiZ
Facebook is the third most visited site on the web, it has 1,44 billion active users and on average, each user spends 20 minutes on the site each day.
That’s an incredible number of people – nearly 20% of the earths population spend 20 minutes everyday on Facebook and there should be absolutely no doubt that Facebook is the place to acquire users and traffic to your site.
Brand awareness
Facebook is the platform to be on for brand awareness. With the advertisement and boost options, companies can reach million of users with a relatively small budget.
Combine this with a creative story telling and good posts on your companies wall – you have an incredible engine to drive the brand awareness. Facebook advertising is incredibly cheap and efficient, according to MOZ.
It’s so cheap and can raise the awareness of the brand very efficiently, that businesses should consider doing Facebook advertisement even if they don’t have a website.
Social signals
Social signals are incredibly important in ranking on google and Facebook allows sites to get these signals incredibly easily. All it takes is some good contents, a bit of creativity and good marketing tactics.
This is especially important for the companies that are looking to develop authority sites. The Facebook page will function as a base to drive traffic to the site, like and shares to posts and thus give continues social signals to the site.
Incredibly well tailored demographics
Facebook allows to target specific countries, ages, languages, ethnicities and much more. This can be very efficient for the companies that already know their client profile, but also for the ones that don’t.
Facebook advertising allows companies to test out what demographics are most engaging with their contents and justify their assumptions.
Organic reach is on the downfall on Facebook
Whatever Mark Zuckerberg tells you, the company is about making money. The pressure to return more profits and revenues more has been on ever since they listed as a public company. The share price is what matters now.
This has led to Facebook pretty much cutting out any sort of organic reach. Want to reach people on Facebook? Great – but you have to pay. Even if the price is low.
This on one hand is good – because the price is so low, you can reach thousands of people for as little as $1 a day. This also brings us to the last reason you should start a Facebook campaign today.
Start on Facebook before your competitors do
There is no question – Facebook is here to stay. It’s not going anywhere and the future of advertising is low cost with mega-volumes.
As with everything – there’s a learning curve, a trial and error period. As a small business owner, you can learn and do these things on your own. You will be a step ahead on your competition by already having experience with Facebook and some campaigns running.
