Bright Local did an interesting study on Google My Business, they analysed 45,000 listings and found some things worth paying attention to.
One of the most interesting things they found was
The average GMB listing has 11 photos, which is pretty impressive. But photos aren’t just window dressing.
When we compared the number of images to the number of customer actions, we found that…
More images = more customer actions.
Listings with over 100 images get 20 times more website clicks than the average listing, while listings with only one image generated 65% fewer clicks than the average listing.
So make sure you are adding at least 10 images to your Google My Business.
You can read more about it at Bright Local.

Google extends same-meaning close variants to phrase match, broad match modifiers
Over at Search Engine Land they have reported on Google’s latest changes to their Google Adwords keyword selection.
Phrase match and broad match modifier will match to same meaning queries
With the changes, Google is also changing its keyword selection preferences to prevent keywords from competing against each other.
Google’s reasoning for this stream of changes is that queries evolve and machine learning has advanced to the point where it can fill in those gaps for advertisers.
Google said it expects advertisers using phrase and broad match modifier to see 3-4% more clicks and conversions on those keywords, with 85% of those clicks, on average, coming from queries not currently covered by your existing keywords.
